For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105. Valorstones Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool using a button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials. The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrade r NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps. The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot. It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
